With twilight descending, the 8th Sunset Concert will begin warmly. We are honored to invite ZaZaZsu Band, one of the most aesthetic and distinctive retro pop bands in China. With their literary songwriting and vintage flair, ZaZaZsu Band will infuse this evening with a deep romantic atmosphere and gentle glow.

ZaZaZsu
ZaZaZsu Band（pronounced Za-Za-Su）is an original retro-pop band from China. They have released the albums Just a Crush (2019), The One Thousandth Night (2024), and the EP Thinking of You (2022). Their music is swift and expressive—sincere, elegant, and full of stories. Their name, mimicking the sound of a heartbeat, captures the instant when one hears the true voice of their heart. The band’s core members are MA Yi (vocalist & lyricist) and CHENG Jinyuan (keyboardist, composer & producer).
Their debut album Just a Crush explored diverse genres such as country, gospel, soul, and jazz, earning wide praise for its ability to weave storytelling into melody, blending vintage styles with contemporary expression. The EP Thinking of You boldly merged retro and electronic elements, and was featured on the front pages of Apple Music, QQ Music, and NetEase Cloud Music on the day of its release. Many of their works have been selected as soundtracks for commercials, TV shows, and films.
Their second full-length album The One Thousandth Night (2024) rewrites Eastern fables with a contemporary lens, reflecting on the relationship between the individual and the world. While preserving retro charm of 1960s–70s pop music, the album presents a more modern narrative—hence praised as a?“musical fable”, freely moving through pop, jazz, and rock styles.
Their representative works include: Every Night Every Dream, Marilyn, River of Love, The Philosopher After Rain, The One Thousandth Night Unsaid , Long River of a Hundred Years Is just a Moment We Are Experiencing , The Classic of Mountains and Seas.
