YAO Mingfeng??
YAO Mingfeng (b.1988), lives and works in Beijing. He received his M.F.A. in Studio Art from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia and his B.F.A. in Sculpture from the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts.
As a conceptual and visual artist, his practice is grounded in ongoing investigations and research into everyday phenomena. Through subtle interventions, he seeks to abstract and visualize elements of daily life, transforming individual perceptual experiences into a shared visual language. Employing methods of sampling and appropriation, he collects symbols and imagery from reality, working across various media including painting, photography, and installation. His recent research focuses on the construction and interplay of technology and perception, authenticity and imitation, as well as geopolitics and landscape within contemporary contexts.
